Our Story

Rising River Martial Arts was founded in 2023, although Owner and Chief Instructor Christina Mrkonja has been training since 1993 and teaching since 1997 for her home school, River Valley Tang Soo Do Academy. Rising River Martial Arts has a rich history that includes River Valley Tang Soo Do Academy, Shin Karate Philadelphia and Imperial Dragon Tang Soo Do. Rising River Martial Arts is a part of the World Tang Soo Do Association’s Region 22.
